VOLUNTEER WITH US
Joy for Children-Uganda (JFCU); wish to receive you as a volunteer.
JFCU is a Christian Non Governmental Organization registered by National NGO board registration No: S. 5914/6687
We accept and welcome individuals, families, and organisations who would like to volunteer. Intending volunteers in any of our programmes should contact the Volunteers’ coordinator.
Volunteers can also take part in our programs wherever they are by; collecting children items, raising awareness on the needs of children, organizing fundraising events or simply letting people know about our work.
The organization also recorganises the importance of child protection, and therefore we have a Child Protection Policy that every volunteer has to agree to before getting involved with children. This is aimed at reducing the risks of child abuse and exploitation. For further enquiries about how you can get involved, please contact us directly.
We welcome you to be part of this life changing cause as we aim to develop a global partnership for development (MDG 7). More details on how you can be a volunteer, download this document below.
JFCU's target is to support and advocate for the needs and rights of children who are affected by natural and man made catastrophes in Uganda. We strive to increase the resources available, implement and strengthen the capacity of families and communities to care for the children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS, Malaria and armed conflict.
We operate in three districts of Kampala, Kyenjojo and Kabarole reaching out to orphaned, street children and children from poor families. We have enjoyed a significant growth within the last two years managing to organize child rights promotion walk in Kampala, launched HIV/AIDS prevention in high school, Promoted child right and child rights clubs in primary school. Also we have been able to acquire a spacious space for our offices, expanded and established a field office in Fort Portal Western Uganda. Further more JFCU has participated in Kids Games and advocacy campaigns around the country.
JFCU is planning to do more new programs and staff has doubled in an effort to effectively administer the new programs as well as keep pace with the organization's growing administrative responsibilities. Currently the organization has a capacity of 200 children ranging from 1-18years both boys and girls. Out of these only 10 children have been confirmed HIV positive and they are getting treatment in one of the HIV clinics in Uganda.
The organization Director and founder chairman is Mr. Ntenga Moses who has tirelessly given direction to Joy for Children Uganda.
The organization provides shelter, food, clothing, education and medical facilities among others to these children. The major source of funds is the membership fees and annual subscription and contribution from the founder. Since the number of children and programs is increasing this means we can never get enough, sometimes our programs are delayed or put on halt due to lack of money. The Director and staff are mostly busy looking for funds and this leaves some of the organization work pending, this creates a gap that needs to be filled in our programs hence calling for people to come and volunteer in our organization. JFCU is kindly requesting you to come and work with us through volunteering so as to bring Joy and love to the hopeless.
We will be pleased to submit additional information at your request. Please do not hesitate to contact us at; info@joyforchildren.org
